ABOUT Dr. David A. Brown

Dr. Brown has extensive experience in orthopedics, with a special interest in adult reconstruction and complex trauma. His unique background as a military orthopedic surgeon, as well as being an orthopedic surgeon in a remote part of Alaska, has given him broad experience and proficiency with complex injuries. After being on active duty as an infantry officer and spending time with military athletes, Dr. Brown became interested in orthopedics. He went to medical school and then returned to active duty as an army physician. He spent 11 years at Brook Army Medical Center in San Antonio, the military’s only level 1 trauma and burn center. During that time, he did a tour in Afghanistan and was the Commander of a Forward Surgical Team, leading a 20-man surgical team and providing care for a wide array of complex trauma patients.

After retiring from the army, Dr. Brown spent several years as an orthopedic surgeon at a critical access hospital in Southeast Alaska, where he provided orthopedic services for trauma, total joints, hands, sports, and pediatric patients. He joins The Center’s multidisciplinary team of expert orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, and physiatrists to provide comprehensive treatment solutions.

TESTIMONIALS

“I was beyond impressed with the attention from everyone we met at The Center. Dr. Brown was incredibly patient and kind, which I so appreciate because his medical terminology isn’t my language. He took the time to explain it to me in a way that made sense. Because my husband was out of town and missed the appointment, Dr. Brown offered to speak with him separately – which was above & beyond my expectations. I felt that each person we interacted with individualized their attention to our needs. Thank you!”

“I was very impressed with him and would strongly recommend him to others. He was very thorough, polite, interested, and answered my questions. I have confidence in him and am happy with the physical therapy he ordered and with the injection recommendation in the event that the therapy doesn’t resolve my condition.”

“I had a serious accident May 1st. One that required surgery and monitoring. The team at The Center have taken great care of me. They have been very engaging and interactive. They have listened and responded to all my questions. I am very pleased with Dr. Brown and his PT Bill. I feel Dr. Brown has taken care to provide me with the best services. Dr. Brown has been sincere and honest with me. I am not done with my recovery and having appointments at The Center. I expect them to all be as great as the previous meetings. Dr. Brown met me in the emergency and I could tell he was a wonderful person and he was so accommodating with my surgery as well.”

“Dr. David Brown is extremely professional and competent. I have absolute confidence in his abilities. Assistant, Chris, is courteous and efficient.”
