In the community

We all have a role to play in making Central Oregon special.

Whether we build or bike, cultivate or craft, preserve or play; we are all contributing to making this community what it is. The Center has been a part of this thriving community since 1958, and we value the partnerships we’ve build along the way with organizations who encourage healthy, safe, and active lifestyles.

Since 1988, The Center physicians have volunteered to provide on-site medical support for high school sporting events with a high risk of injury. Through our support of The Center Foundation, we help provide a dedicated athletic trainer in each of the area high schools including Mountain View, Bend, Summit, Caldera, La Pine, Crook County, Sisters, and Madras.

The Center has been the official medical provider for XC Oregon since 2005. XC Oregon provides a development program for Oregon cross country skiers, giving adult skiers a unique chance to work towards their dreams in regional, national, and/or international cross-country ski racing.

Launched in the fall of 2020, Boss Basketball strives to bring together and GROW the Central Oregon basketball community through hands-on experiences ranging from camps, clinics, individual and group instruction, and competitive teams.

The Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization that creates opportunities through competitive sports programs to support athletes in achieving their individual athletic, academic, and personal goals. The Center supports the MBSEF Nordic Team, junior cycling program, and has participated in various community events since 2005.

The Center has partnered to support OSSA since 2012. The Oregon School Ski Association is a non-profit organization formed by volunteer coaches, parents and community members for the purpose of promoting education and instruction in the amateur sport of Alpine skiing at the high school level.

Bend Park and Recreation offers over 1,000 recreation programs for all ages and abilities throughout the Bend community. The Center has provided support for their youth soccer and basketball programs since 2006.

Since 2009, The Center has been the official medical director for the Mt. Bachelor National Ski Patrol. As a group of highly trained and dedicated volunteers, Mt. Bachelor National Ski Patrol provides first aid and emergency transport to guests in need of assistance.

A partner since 2006, The Center provides medical support to Bend’s local amateur baseball team, the Bend Elks during their regular season.

FORCE is a partnership between the Exercise and Sports Science program at Oregon State University-Cascades, The Center, and Therapeutic Associates. The services include general injury prevention and musculoskeletal wellness programs, walking and running assessments, and sport-specific programs.

The Center provides medical support to the St. Charles Foundation, who work with the community to develop and steward philanthropic resources to fund programs and capital projects that improve health.

The Center partnered with the Bend Rapids hockey association as their title sponsor, and to provide medical support during all local tournaments. The Bend Rapids support growth and access to competitive ice hockey for youth in Central Oregon.

The Center continues to support ALS through participating in their annual fundraising walk. Our local chapter of The ALS Association is the central source for services and education for people with ALS, their families, caregivers, and health care professionals in all of Oregon and the six counties of SW Washington.
