ABOUT CHELSEA MCDOWELL, PA-C

Chelsea knew that she wanted a career in medicine at an early age. While in college, she needed to have surgery herself. When she met with the physician assistant (PA) working on her case, she knew she had found her calling. She appreciated that the PA not only functioned as a medical provider, but also as a liaison between physicians and patients. Her favorite part of being a PA is the time she is able to spend with her patients. She strives to answer all of their questions and provide the most compassionate and comprehensive care possible.

Prior to moving to Bend, Chelsea worked as neurosurgery physician assistant at Baptist Health Floyd in Indiana and as a thoracic surgery physician assistant at Ascension St. John Health in Michigan. She enjoys the variety and challenge of working in different settings including outpatient clinic, hospital, and the operating room. Regardless of the setting, she is passionate about providing patient-centered care. Every day, she strives to better the lives of her patients with her expertise and compassionate approach to care. She enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hiking with her husband and their two dogs. Their goal is to visit every National Park in the country, and they are nearly halfway there. She also likes going to concerts, spending time with family, and eating at delicious restaurants, making Central Oregon a perfect fit for her lifestyle.
