Mekenna Thurber began her career at The Center in March of 2016. She has had the unique opportunity to fulfill a number of different roles here at The Center, including x-ray assistant and medical scribe. Now a part of our physiatry team, Mekenna works with our physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors as a medical assistant, as well as a coordinator for our ALS and Concussion Clinic.
Mekenna first found her love for the outdoors growing up in Reno, Nevada. As a 4-year varsity starter for her high school softball team, Mekenna led her team in runs scored, was named Second Team All-League, and was an All-State nominee. She signed and played softball for Holy Names University in Oakland, California, and completed her degree in Kinesiology/Sports Biology.
As a skier and avid hiker, Mekenna takes full advantage of everything Central Oregon. She and her two four-legged adventure buddies, Buggah and Boo, can often be found having fun exploring the great outdoors. Mekenna has loved making Bend her home, and says that the best thing about working at The Center are the people; she’s made some pretty great friendships here.
