ATHLETIC TRAINER

The Center Foundation is seeking two motivated, positive; team oriented athletic trainers to join our sports medicine outreach program serving the local high schools in Central Oregon. One position is full-time and year-round, the other is 30-hours per week during the school year (September – June) only.  

The essential duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide evaluation, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
  • Provide AT services during and for athletic practices, home competitions and travel to away varsity football games. Availability for event coverage in the evening and some weekends is required.
  • Position may include cast room work; duties will include casting, splinting, bracing, wound care and assisting in office based surgical procedure
  • Communication with student-athletes, coaches, and parents/guardians regarding student-athlete injuries. Act as a liaison between family physicians and specialist, coaches, school administration, school nurse, student-athletes and their parents.
  • Maintain accurate medical records of injuries, and treatments.
  • Provide concussion management services in accordance with The Center Foundation Concussion Protocol, including the utilization of ImPACT baseline and post-concussion testing.
  • Assist with The Center Foundation events and programs and act as a representative within the community. Duties may include blog writing; and assistance with fundraisers, medical conference and other events put on by The Center Foundation.

Chief Financial Officer

The CFO is an integral part of the senior leadership team and is responsible for the oversight and direction of the financial functions of the Center and its affiliated entities in accordance with applicable financial accounting principles, tax legislation and other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry. This position works closely with the CEO and the physician leadership team to guide, develop, and manage all financial, legal and information technology aspects of the corporation and its related entities.

In addition, the CFO will:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the fiscal function and performance of the Center and its affiliated entities (The Center Foundation, Cascade Surgicenter, LLC, and the various physician LLC’s that exist).
  • Direct the corporation’s short-term and long-term financial plans and programs.
  • Monitor applicable regulatory actions and new legislation to maintain compliance and to protect the organization from a financial and competitive standpoint.
  • Oversee and direct the finance team and the provision of timely and accurate financial reports, analysis and financial trends in order to assist the CEO, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  • Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers and retirement plans and investments.
  • Review proposed contracts from the financial perspective and provide guidance and direction as needed to ensure the contracts are crafted to protect the interests of the organization(s).
  • Oversee the insurance / risk management functions of the organization(s) to ensure that appropriate risks have been satisfactorily addressed. This includes commercial/general liability, professional liability and fiduciary liability insurance coverage.
  • Evaluate the finance division for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as provide individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities whenever possible.

The ideal candidate has experience using their financial expertise and analytic thinking to accurately manage a company’s financial health. Bachelor’s degree in a related field and experience managing others and leading a team is required, MBA or CPA preferred. We are looking for someone with decision-making and problem-solving skills, leadership skills with the ability to delegate, motivate and inspire team members, strong written and verbal communication skills and honesty and integrity. Healthcare experience preferred but not required.

 

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT – NEUROSURGERY 

We are seeking an experienced physician assistant (PA) to join our Neurosurgical team. You will provide support for surgery, hospital rounds, H&P’s, and 1st call on a rotational basis. You will be part of a two Neurosurgeon, three PA group. Prior neurosurgical or spine experience desired. Our multi-specialty group includes 22 fellowship trained physicians and 20 PAs in a well-established successful practice. NCCPA certification needed. Current Oregon medical license preferred, but not required for applications to be considered. Moving allowance available.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT – SPORTS MEDICINE

We are seeking an experienced physician assistant (PA) to join our sports medicine team. This position includes being a first assist in surgery, hospital rounding, providing independent clinic services including H&Ps, follow up and post op visits, injections and acute injury evaluation. You will be part of a large Orthopedic PA call group rotation with 12 PAs supporting the physician on primary call, thus the call burden is quite low and is reimbursed as additional income. Our multi-specialty group includes 22 fellowship trained physicians and 20 PA’s in a well-established successful practice. Moving allowance available. 

CLINIC SUPERVISOR

We are seeking two reliable, detail-oriented people to manage clinical support staff for our Orthopedics and Neuro/PMR/Occupational Medicine departments. We are a high volume medical clinic and with four locations. If you are a team player with supervisory experience and the ability to multitask, we’re interested in hearing from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee back-office medical clinic staff for the Orthopedics department or the Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine and Occupational Medicine departments.
  • Resolve patient questions and issues that require supervisor support.
  • Develop and implement processes to maximize efficiencies in the clinical area.
  • Foster teamwork among staff and physicians to ensure the optimum patient experience and seamless quality care.

Skills:

  • 3+ years of team management experience required, experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage staff and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to help others see problems from multiple angles.
  • Strong basic computer skills required, experience with electronic health records preferred.
  • Strong organizational/multi-tasking skills.

CLINIC UNIT COORDINATOR

We are seeking a positive, multi-tasker to join our team as a Clinic Unit Coordinator in our Neurosurgical group. The Unit Coordinator supports the medical assistants (MAs), physicians, and physician assistants (PAs) in a particular section by assisting with clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, handling mail, voice mail, faxes, etc.  Requires good organizational and computer skills, ability to multitask, excellent teamwork and a positive attitude.

ENTRY SCREENER/ PATIENT GREETER

We are seeking a friendly and helpful individual to join our team as an Entry Screener and Patient Greeter. We receive as many as 300+ patients per day. This position greets and welcomes patients and screens them for COVID-19 symptoms following our protocol. May also provide general information and directions. $18.00 per hour. Part-time or full-time, you choose! Full-time employees will be eligible for benefits.

MEDICAL ASSISTANT

We are seeking a reliable back office Medical Assistant to join our team. Our Medical Assistant will work directly with healthcare providers in the examination and treatment of patients. This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday.  

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patient for exam and treatment. Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate electronic health records.
  • Accurately document phone conversations, prescription refills given, samples provided, and appointments for tests and referrals.
  • Write up or electronically enter tests, procedures, referrals, surgeries and work up slips.

 Skills:

  • Previous MA or closely related experience (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service and professionalism

MEDICAL SCRIBE

We are seeking a full-time Medical Scribe, anticipated schedule is 32-40 hours per week. You will be responsible for recording medical information during patient visits on a laptop in a fast paced clinical environment. Initial training will be done on-site and then you may transition to working remotely. Requires a strong internet connection from your remote location. Successful applicants must be able to pass a drug test and a background check.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany the provider, virtually, into the exam room and take electronic notes about patient visit.
  • Record details of patient visit, including chief complaint, history of illness, review of systems, past medial history, social history, family medical history, disease risk factors, medications and allergies and transcribe these details into the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Assist Medical Assistant as needed by tracking the orders for each patient, recording results and notifying providers of results as they arrive.
  • Work collaboratively with all staff to provide the best patient care.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong computer skills required.
  • Must be able to type fast and accurately.
  • Scribe experience desired but not required (tell us why you would be a good scribe!)

PATIENT SERVICES SPECIALIST

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented person to join our Patient Services team. The Center is a high volume medical clinic that sees an average of up to 400 patients a day between our four locations. If you are a team player with the ability to multitask, we’re interested in hearing from you. 

Responsibilities:

  • Answer high volume of incoming calls
  • Greet patients at reception and check them in for appointments
  • Obtain, verify and update patient demographics and insurance information
  • Schedule future appointments
  • Process co-payments
  • Screen patients and visitors for COVID based on current guidelines

Skills:

  • Strong basic computer skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organizational/multi-tasking skills

REGISTERED NURSES

Cascade Surgicenter (located at The Center in Bend) is seeking two experienced Registered Nurses (RNs), full time or per diem. One position is in the OR (experience required) and the other position is in Admit/Recovery (experience preferred). BLS and current licensure with the Oregon State Board of Nursing is required for all positions. Weekdays only – no weekends.

SCHEDULING SPECIALIST

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented person to join our orthopedic team as a scheduling specialist. The Center is a high volume medical clinic that sees an average of up to 400 patients a day between our four locations. Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients, visitors, and medical staff in a consistently friendly and courteous manner.
  • Answer the telephone promptly and handle patient inquiries regarding appointments, prescription refills, non-medical questions, order status, and clinical department requests in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Maintain, verify and update patient demographics and insurance information while maintaining confidentiality according to company policies.
  • Accurately enter appointments and related data into scheduling system.
  • Adhere to and implement insurance and billing policies.
  • Deliver customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, is timely, efficient and accurate.

SURGERY SCHEDULER

We are seeking  an organized and dedicated person to join our Surgery Scheduling team. The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling patient surgeries at multiple locations. If you are a team player, detail oriented, and able to multi-task, we’re interested in hearing from you. This is a full-time position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the physician, patient, and the authorizations department to obtain insurance pre-certification for surgeries and procedures.
  • Schedule procedures at the appropriate facility, coordinating with medical reps for any special equipment needed.
  • Communicate with the patient, physician, and medical staff regarding surgery.
  • Coordinate necessary pre-op appointments and imaging with outside facilities.

Skills:

  • Strong basic computer skills
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills and analytical thinking
  • Prior healthcare experience required
  • Previous surgery scheduling experience a plus

SURGICAL Tech

Cascade Surgicenter (located at The Center in Bend) is seeking an experienced Surgical Tech to join our team. This can be full-time or per diem. Must have knowledge of all basic set-ups for surgical procedures. Successful completion of OR Surgical Tech course (or equivalent) and 1 year scrubbing experience required. Orthopedic experience preferred. No nights or weekends.
